One of the NHL Coaches’ Association’s primary objectives is to help in the development of all hockey coaches at all levels of the game.
As part of our commitment to this objective, we created the NHLCA Mentorship Program. The Program was piloted for coaches in the NCAA, USHL, ECHL and AHL between February 10 and March 9, 2020. A combined 200 coaches from these groups were able to participate in live webinars led by current NHL head coaches around the topics of leadership, communication, career advancement and other advice for coaches looking to enhance their coaching skillset.
The NHLCA Mentorship Program was intended to roll out on a broader scale next NHL season beginning in October 2020, but given the impact of COVID-19, the NHLCA moved up the launch of the Program to begin on March 20, 2020. Coaches from across North America and globally were invited to participate in the Program. Click here to read the announcement.
The last webinar in the NHLCA Mentorship Program took place on April 29, 2020.
Access to the NHLCA Mentorship Program was accessible through May 15, 2020. Going forward, the webinar recordings are available in the online Conference Portal for paid registrants to the 2020 NHLCA Online Global Coaches’ Clinic. To register for the clinic, please visit www.nhlcaclinic.com.
