What a difference three years makes. Turn back the calendar to the end of the 2016-17 season. To say things in Colorado were not good wouldn’t give justice to just how bad things were.
Marcoux says All-Decade players were prime examples of leadership, work ethic.
“It’s been a blur,” new Vegas Golden Knights Coach Peter DeBoer said of his sudden hiring to the team. “I got a call and was on a bench coaching in Ottawa literally 24 hours later,” DeBoer said. “I’ve always admired this franchise from the other side of the rink and the bench. The electricity of the building and the passion of the fans. To experience it first hand, and to walk around this city is something special.”
Geoff Ward can remember every single slight — real or perceived — the Boston Bruins felt from the Vancouver Canucks during the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals. Ward was an assistant coach with the Bruins back then and can list off all the things the Canucks did that provided bulletin board material to get his team motivated.
